2015 Winter Thank A Teacher

(click above to print form)

We all need to be prepared for Old Man Winter, so let’s help our Teachers do that with our Thank A Teacher Program!

The South Bend Education Foundation invites you to show a teacher, staff member, or volunteer your appreciation by ”showering” them with a gift through our Thank A Teacher program. For your donation, your gift  and a certificate notifying them of your thoughtfulness will be delivered to your honoree. You and your honoree will be acknowledged in our yearly annual fund report as well.

Please help us honor the people that are helping our children grow into a Caring Community of Learners. For more information see the attached form, email us at edfoassistant@sbcsc.k12.in.us, or give us a call in the office at 283-8039.

The Legacy of Learning Circle endowment is well on the way toward our strategic plan goal of funding $500,000 by 2015. To-date, we have raised $248,000 towards the goal to fund a legacy that will fund innovative teacher grants forever. The Teacher Grant Endowment funds are held with the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County. Donations, family requests, bequests and payroll deductions are all methods of participating in this important goal.

Memorials

Often it is fitting that a special cause or organization is designated at the time of bereavement. If you or your special loved one is close to the South Bend Community School Corporation, consider the Foundation as a designee with gifts of any amount. The loved one’s name will be listed in a special place in our Annual Report and in the newsletter with the names of all those who have contributed. The family will be sent a letter explaining your gift, but not the amount. Note the name and address of the family to whom the letter should be sent in the “comments” section.

Honors

Maybe it is a birthday, an anniversary, a wedding, a retirement, a milestone of teaching service or a job well done. You can make a memorable contribution to the Foundation and brighten the day of your honoree. The honoree will be sent a certificate explaining your gift, but not the amount. We will also include any special message. This is similar to our Thank-a-Teacher program. We often hear that recipients are honored to be the recipient of an “in-honor” donation. Note in the “comments” section the name and address of the honoree.
